Jungaliya Gaon is a small secluded hill station set admits
the beauty of nature at an altitude of 1450 meters above the sea level in the
hills of Uttrakhand. It is 12 km away from Bhimtal. The climate of Jungaliya Gaon
is pleasant during the summers, slightly cool as the monsoon advents and really
cold during winters. Summer Temperatures vary from 15 to 23 degree Celsius, the
monsoon temperatures fall down to 13 to 18 degrees with cool wind blowing and
the winter temperatures range from 2 to 12 degrees. Though this side of the
mountain usually is snow free but there have been times in the recent years
where there has been snow fall in the months of December and January
There is not much to do in Jungaliya Gaon except wandering
away in the hills for beautiful treks, totally enjoying the vagaries of nature;
or maybe sitting in your room enjoying the beauty, sipping on a cup of tea and
reading a book or enjoying some music. Though 5 km away from Jungaliya Gaon
towards Bhimtal there is a parasailing institute where one can enjoy the
adventure sport and watch both Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal lakes, a small hill
station which is again 7 km away from Bhimtal. You can also go to Bhimtal and
enjoy a nice boat ride on the lake and feed the ducks which come quacking away
at the site of bread and visit the ancient temple of Shiva which was visited by
Bhim, one of the five Pandavas during the banishment period. The town has been
named after him.
Not far away is Naukuchiatal which boasts of having one of
the larger lakes in the district. There are boating, kayaking and small shikara
type boats to engage you. After a nice boat ride you could visit The Lake
Resort for some scrumptious snacks.
