People of all ages, across the world dance to the feet thumping and peppy music. They shake and wave and are lost to the world. Dancing combines a cardio workout with body toning exercise which is not only vital for the body but it enriches the soul too. So why not have fun doing a dance exercise workout and reduce body fat rather than doing boring exercises.

Health benefits that are derived from dancing are many and hence they motivate people to take dance exercise classes. These include: Reduced stress levels, Lower risk of heart diseases, Decreased blood pressure, Increased muscle tone and coordination etcetera.

There are many permutations for dance forms. They are:

·         Ballroom dancing –may look elegant and suave but it in no way is an easy option – ballroom dancing involves a complete heart pumping workout. Posture is maintained and kept rigid hence making it enhanced. It also involves lots of balance and flexibility.

·         Belly dancing helps in strengthening the back and the muscles of the pelvic bones. It also tones up the hamstrings, thighs, hips, and abs.

·         Salsa looks great and the beats are wonderful to dance but they also help in toning the body all over.

·         Zumba, Cha Cha, merengue and other Latin dance forms which are very easy to pick up help in all over fitness and the music is so energetic that people hardly feel they are exercising.

·         To suit the Indian taste there are dance classes for bhangra also taking place across India.
